The Supreme Court, on Monday, quashed the AIPMT exam conducted on May 3, 2015 due to large scale cheating across the country.

A bench of Justices R K Agarwal and Amitava Roy has directed the CBSE to conduct a fresh test within four weeks.

In our last post on this topic (click here to read), we had written about irregularities in the admission test being brought to the notice of the Supreme Court.

While the police had found a number of cheaters, especially in the state of Haryana, it was further found that many students had managed to take electronic devices (read mobile phones?) into the exam hall and received updates on them from outside.

The Court observed that it would be a huge injustice to genuine students who had given the exam fairly.

In our humble opinion, this thing is a whole injustice to all students largely perpetrated by invigilators who take a benevolent stance about rules regarding admission to the admission hall. This is irrespective of whether the candidates permitted such laxity are actually cheating or not.

In the long run, this whole excercise has been terribly detrimental to the morale of all candidates who now have to bring themselves up to peak performance once again in a very short time span.

We will keep readers updated about fresh dates for AIPMT when they are announced.
